Expanding its theatre of operations to the South Pacific, World at War, the latest title in the hit Call of Duty franchise redefines the WWII video game experience.

Activision and Treyarch announced that they will be taking Call of Duty players deep into the South Pacific and European theatres this fall for Call of Duty: World at War, an action-packed video game that will pit you against enemies that know no surrender and show no mercy. Call of Duty: World at War throws out the rulebook to transform World War II combat through new enemies, new tactics and an uncensored experience of the gritty battles that gripped a generation.

"With Call of Duty: World at War, we re re-defining what it means to play a WWII game," said Treyarch s Studio Head Mark Lamia. "We re excited to give players a host of new enemies that employ entirely new tactics, as well as new, groundbreaking tools – like co-op and the flamethrower – to succeed in the epic fight."

Call of Duty: World at War for the Nintendo Wii Console will support a unique co-op mode for two players that allows you to rank up and unlock perks in competitive multiplayer by completing challenges and earning experience points. Whether playing cooperatively or competitively,  if players are online, they will always gain experience points. Based on your experience rank and rank of your co-players, Call of Duty: World at War will scale dynamically to provide a deeper level of challenge.

Call of Duty: World at War is in development for the Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION3 , Nintendo Wii and Games for Windows. The video game is scheduled for release this fall and has not yet been rated.
