Endless Ocean
Its fair to say that most games involve some form of competition, whether you’re playing against real people or just against the computer, trying to get the highest score or beat nefarious bad guys. Endless Ocean is unique in that it doesn’t follow the conventions of other games.
In Endless Ocean you spend your time on a yacht in the middle of the ocean, diving into the sea to pet fish and explore undersea caves. And that’s pretty much it.
It is a beautifully designed underwater world, though. The coral reefs and caves are lovingly detailed and there is a fantastic variety of life to find and catalogue. The more time you spend with the fish the more information is gathered about the various species, which proves surprisingly compelling even if there isn’t much point to it.

There is a story in Endless Ocean involving ancient civilizations, which you’ll advance by finding sunken artefacts, but like the rest of the game it’s presented at a sedentary pace and there’s no real threat involved.
There are no explosions or shocking plot twists and as such many people are likely to find the game dull, but if you give it a chance it’ll prove a strangely compelling experience. And with no violence and plenty of informative content about underwater life it’s a great game for kids.
Verdict:
Endless Ocean is a peaceful, relaxed and bizarre game which is unlike anything else you’re likely to play on the Wii. It verges on being boring at times, but if you are in the mood for something a little different then give it a try.
