Trauma Centre New Blood

For those new to the series, Trauma Centre offers players the ability to perform delicate surgery without the years of medical school and arduous training. Using the Wii remote you slice and stitch bodies on screen, fixing medical emergencies as quickly but accurately as possible.

The operations make use of the Wii remote twisting and turning abilities, and see you performing brain surgery, doing skin grafts, transplanting organs and many other tasks. Before each operation you choose your tools and then watch some story before heading into surgery. You then have a tight time limit in which to perform the operation, or you lose the patient.

It’s a puzzle game that relies on accuracy, dexterity and skill and it proves an immensely tense and involving experience as you fight to complete tasks within the time limit and revive flat-lined patients.

It can get extremely difficult in places though, and that may deter some people. Struggling through on the harder difficulty levels can be very challenging, but then that’s something that many will relish.

One of the reasons for this though is that unlike other titles in the series New Blood is intended to be played co-operatively, with another player taking the role of an assisting surgeon. The second players can perform an equal role, or newcomers can do simpler tasks like stitching minor injuries.

An outstanding puzzle game that’s quite unlike anything else you’ll have played before, this is highly recommended. It is best when played with a friend, though
